Paul Amadio is head of the Besant Hill School of Happy Valley in Ojai. Prior to his life in schools, Paul was an actor and director, including tours in Grease: The Musical (starring Steve Carell) and Foxfire. Paul was a finalist in the Irene Ryan Award in acting for his portrayal of Skelly in Landsford Wilson's The Rimers of Eldritch and nominated for best actor for Herschel in Gemini, and Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Hillberry Reprtory Theatre in Michigan. Paul has worked from coast to coast in regional rep theaters and his representative roles include Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Antonio in Measure for Measure, Billy Bigelow in Carousel, Hucklebee in The Fantastiks, Alan Sherman in Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah, King Henry II in Lion in Winter, the Emcee in Cabaret, and Koko in The Mikado (also starring Steve Carell). His production of Fiddler on the Roof was awarded the Governor's Award for contribution to the Arts in Massachuetts and Topher Grace (That 70's Show) was discovered in his production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (which he co-directed with his far more talented wife Donita). Paul loves his family, Besant Hill School, the Boston Red Sox, and Shakespeare. This is his first production with OSF. Paul studied Shakespeare with James Roose Evans and John Dalby at the Royal Academy and has achieved his life long dream to work alongside Peter Fox (The Waltons and The Munster's Return) whom he sat next to as Doctor Gibbs in Ojai Rising's production of Our Town last fall.
